Bumpy canvas, meet Matisse

I took Ann Bagby at her word. She gave us 'homework'...go forth and make bumpy paper....So I made bumpy CANVAS, in the hopes that it would inspire me to paint. So far, so good. Here's the prep, then painted, and currently becoming a nude in chair, inspired by Matisse (not me, the canvas!)

I too am now a bumpy paper convert. I've been adding paper shapes, gesso, then acrylic paints to my pages in journals. I first used that technique on Jenny's travel journal.
Unfortunately, I get so caught up in the background, it's hard to put anything else on the page. Oops.

I know! They are little treasures all by themselves. And now that I am painting on it, I run into, hmm, what is that big wavy circly bump doing on her forehead!? Just a happy accident, I guess.
